Recycled polycarbonate (PC) shell. The rigid outer layer. PC is the material responsible for distributing force across the case surface on impact — when you drop your phone, the PC shell spreads the energy outward so it doesn't concentrate on the glass or the frame. TPU also provides the grip that prevents the case from sliding off surfaces, which PC alone doesn't offer.
